Kente cloth is traditional to the Ashanti tribe in Ghana, as are cross-shaped fertility dolls with large round heads. Images of two of these dolls are part of the background in this mosaic and not visible in a photograph. Kente cloth is traditionally woven in thin strips on a hand loom. Larger cloths are made from sewing these strips together.
